The project is a series of interventions, based on European working migration patterns for the minority of Romani. Stepwise it is transforming a neighbourhood in berlin into the first Romani embassy. The urban strategy is to recode the entire block regarding its levels of privacies by adding volumes, utilizing existing walls and forming new courtyards without demolishing any buildings or functions. Precedents of communal shelters render how a protected free space combined with little private space make travelling as well as communal living pleasant. The project should bee seen as one roof, composed out of a verity of structures, to gain complexity in composition and fragmentation. A gradient from public to private is achieved. A distinctive sequence of spaces can in that way turn a necessary protection building into communal home.
