In the context of developing research activities and their communication, research projects in both scientific and artistic research fields including doctoral students were invited to present their current research in five to ten-minute videos. These films are also to be understood as an invitation to reflect upon the potentials and challenges of such contemporary media formats, and to evaluate this form of video presentation in terms of artistic processes, work, and research. All of the film clips have been uploaded onto the Zentrum Fokus Forschung’s moderated YouTube channel with accompanying comments. Festival visitors are also invited to leave their comments.

We understand research without thematic boundaries as a source of vital examples, which can generate an inviting atmosphere of challenges and exchange, a work environment that avoids boundaries and promotes curiosity. Mapping new domains is the central task of the Department of Support Art and Research, whose work is always building upon the visions and competences of the artistic and scientific fields of practice cultivated at the Angewandte. The Zentrum Fokus Forschung’s function is to develop post-graduate research projects in the areas of art and science (research projects, including projects developed from doctoral studies in artistic research) and to support important developments in the arts and sciences more generally.
